Re: Looking forward to buy ...
Hello frdnwr.
I buy mainly on ebay, so you can check the prives yourself.
Where I live, there are no much bargains.
I find good bargains on the garage sales, but this is very rare, and the
stuff is not what I am looking for.
Hope this helps.

Re: Looking forward to buy ...
I go to a friendly local car junkyard and get most of these items for next to nothing.
If you get to know them, they will eventually show you the "big box of keys" they have, and might even let you cherry pick out the xponder keys .
All fords are reusable, all gm marked pk3 and pk3+ as well, but the circle with a plus inside style cannot be reused. Early Nissan up to about ~2002 can be reused (NI01 and 02) Newer niss blanks (NI04) are not reusable. Chryslers of any stripe are non-reusable.
If you are planning on doing any significant amount of auto work, get a good reference text, I use a book called Fast Facts every day I am working. The latest edition is about $135 but you will use it daily for 2-3 years and will save you many headaches.

Thanks a lot for the info.
Where I live though, the scrap yards don't keep the old keys
